Storms cause tree damage, power outages in Rock County

JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Storms Thursday night in southern Wisconsin caused some damage and power outages in Rock County.

Janesville Police tell 27 News they received about 50 weather-related calls overnight Thursday into Friday morning. The hardest hit part of the city was the west side.

As of Friday morning, the biggest issue they're dealing with is downed trees. Crews are working to clear them by the time the rush hour starts.

Earlier in the evening Thursday, there were reports of flash flooding.

Emergency dispatchers had no reports of serious injuries. No one was taken to the hospital.

As of 5:30 a.m., Alliant Energy is reporting 561 power outages in Rock County. There are also 66 outages in Walworth County.
