MADISON (WKOW) -- Back to school fashion trends don't have to be just for students. West Towne Mall has some tips for teachers too!
Marketing Director Tiffany Schultz stopped by the WKOW studios Monday morning to give Wake Up Wisconsin viewers a look at what's trending in back to school fashion this upcoming school year. She says for the students, denim is going to be big. "The days of wrestling kids in or out of skinny jeans is behind us. This fall, there's more of an emphasis on other forms of denim including denim dresses, skirts, jackets, boyfriend shorts and faded, slouchy cuffed jeans that kids can slip into easily on those rushed mornings." Schultz says you'll see a lot of ripped denim and colored denim this season.
Schultz had some ideas for teachers too. "The wardrobe to complement that first opening bell can help set the tone for a teacher's year, too. Several of this year's fashion trends are particularly teacher-friendly, and allow teachers to update their wardrobes with a few pieces." She says layering will be a big part of a teacher's wardrobe, as well as wedges, flat boots and ballerina flats.
