Game Week for Badgers Coach Chryst Talks LSU

MADISON (WKOW) -

It's game week for the Badgers with their season opener on Saturday at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The Badgers defense will have their hands full with Heisman candidate, Leonard Fournette.

The senior running back ran for nearly two thousand yards last season, and is expected to put up similar numbers this season.

"I think it's important that when ever you are playing against a good offense that has some stand out players you have to be cautious to not do too much. Then you put other things at risk." Said Badgers head coach Paul Chryst.

The Tigers also bring with them a stout defense. Eight returning starters in the lineup that contributed on a defense that held opponents to 347 yards per game last year.

Wisconsin's front line will try to create some holes for senior back Corey Clement and also keep the Tigers hands off of starting quarterback Bart Houston.

On the offensive line with offensive senior Dan Voltz's departure is tough to fill, but the line has been forced to make some changes.

"As we saw last year, sometimes you don't get the same starting five day in and day out." Said sophomore center Michael Deiter, now taking over for Voltz at center. "Chemistry is important, but there has to be a chemistry with seven guys maybe. If someone gets hurt , they got to go in and play. There has to be a chemistry instantly, there can't be a dull period waiting for someone to get acclimated to play with a certain five."

The Badgers and LSU play on Saturday at 2:30pm at Lambeau Field. The game is nationally televised on ABC.
