MADISON (WKOW) -- The annual food fest known as The Taste of Madison prepares to take over the Capitol Square.
The event, held over Labor Day Weekend each year, showcases more than 80 local restaurants, 26 beverage stands and three entertainment stages. An estimated 175,000 people are expected to attend over the two-day period.
Admission to the event -- which includes the live entertainment -- is free and open to the public. You can help support local charities by buying a drink.
On Tuesday, Brodie, Birkel, with Madison Festivals, Inc. stopped by Wake Up Wisconsin to talk about the event.
Participants are encouraged to stop by West Washington Avenue on the Capitol Square at 2:30 on Saturday, September 3 for Wisconsin's Largest Tailgate presented by TDS!
WKOW is a proud sponsor of Taste of Madison and will broadcasting the UW Badgers vs LSU Tigers football game on our big (and we mean BIG!) screen live. Tailgate food will be available, compliments of Festival Foods.
Promoters ask that the "NO PETS" and "NO CARRY INS" rules be observed.
