MADISON (WKOW) -- Gardening expert Melinda Myers teaches us how to ripen your green tomatoes once you have to bring them indoors.
She says you can pick tomatoes that are starting to show color before the frost comes. You should put them in a cool place (60-65 degrees). Spread the tomatoes out on a heavy paper or wrap them individually in newspaper. You don't want them to touch. This way, they'll ripen over the next few weeks. If you want your tomatoes earlier than that, you can move a few tomatoes to a bright, warm location a few days before they're needed.
You can learn some more tips by watching the video above or by going to Melinda's website.
