Annual Dog Paddle raises money for Madison K-9 unit
MADISON (WKOW) -- The Capital K-9s' biggest fundraiser is coming up this weekend.
On Monday, Officer Jim Donnell and K-9 Officer Krahnie stopped by Wake Up Wisconsin to talk about the 2016 event.
The non-profit organization is raising money for the Madison Police Department's K-9 unit. It pays for just about everything for the unit, from the canines themselves to their health care, food, equipment, training. The only thing Capital K-9s doesn't pay for is the human officers' salaries and benefits.
The fundraiser is the Dog Paddle at Goodman Pool Sunday, September 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you pre-register, the price is $20 per dog. The price is $25 on the day of the event and humans without a dog can come for $15.
