DEFOREST (WKOW) -- The Village of DeForest hosts the Yahara Riverfest this Saturday, September 10. Hundreds are expected for the annual event.
The event starts at noon at Conservancy Commons Park on Yellowwood Lane in DeForest. Families can participate in the favorites they've come to expect, like fishing on Sunfish Pond, Prairie Thunder cloggers, rubber duck decoration and race down the river, backyard bass fishing game, pumpkin painting, tractor and horse-drawn wagon rides on the Upper Yahara River Trail and crafts.
New this year will be an amphibian presentation by the Madison Herpetology Society as well as local artists who have transformed the old DeForest Area Middle School chairs in to works of art for a fundraising auction.
