Bucks return to Madison

Posted: Updated:

For the second straight year, the Milwaukee Bucks tipped off training camp in Madison. They held their first practice at the Badgers' practice facility.

"Being here last year was real nice. It helped us a lot. It's nice to be back," said star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The Bucks will practice in Madison through Friday before returning to Milwaukee. The team made the decision to move camp last year in an effort to attract fans from around the state.

"It's about being a state team, a Wisconsin team," said head coach Jason Kidd after the first practice. "I thought last year the guys enjoyed it, to get away. Going forward, I don't know if that's going to be the case with the money spent in Milwaukee with the new practice facility. Again, it's a good time to spend with your teammates, the coaches to get to know one another. This is a great week for us."

The Bucks will return to the Kohl Center on October 8th to face the Dallas Mavericks in a preseason game.
