Middleton girls cruise to sectional golf title

MADISON (WKOW) -

The Middleton girls golf team punched a ticket to the state tournament in dominant fashion. The Cardinals cruised to a sectional championship. They bested second-place Oregon by 47 strokes. Both of those teams will advance to next week's state tournament at University Ridge.

Alexis Thomas led the charge for the Cardinals. She took the individual title by shooting a 71. Oregon's Taylor McCorkle finished second. Ashley Kulka from Beaver Dam, Lauren Shorter from Verona and Kelsey Taebel from Stoughton qualified as individuals for the state tournament.
