Local author shares heartbreak of Alzheimer's disease
MADISON (WKOW) -- Ann Garvin is a mother first, an Author, a professor of Health at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and creative writing in the Masters of Fine Arts program at Southern New Hampshire University.
On Wednesday, Garvin stopped by Wake Up Wisconsin to talk about her latest book, "I Like You Just Fine When You’re Not Around."
The book as captures the gritty truth of a family in crisis as the heartbreak of Alzheimer’s disease collides with caring for new life.
According to a recent book review, "Garvin writes with warmth and wisdom, explores sisters turning from piercing love to boiling rage and back again as they cope with the exhaustion of being the sandwiched generation," said Randy Susan Meyers, bestselling author of Accidents of Marriage.
