HALES CORNERS (WKOW) -- A beautiful celebration of Asian culture is going on in southern Wisconsin right now. It's called China Lights and is being featured at the Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners outside Milwaukee.
The display features 40 larger than life sculptural lanterns, stage performances highlighting folk-culture entertainment and activities, and a bustling marketplace.
Shirley Walczak, director of the Boerner Botanical Gardens, and Sichuan Tianyu, manager of the Chinese Traveling Light Show, joined us Wednesday morning on Wake Up Wisconsin. You can find out more about the event by watching the video version of this story or by visiting their website.
China Lights will be in Hales Corners through the end of October. It runs Tuesday-Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
