Middleton boys soccer falls in state semifinals

The Middleton boys soccer team came agonizing close to a trip to the WIAA state championship game. The Cardinals fell in the state semifinals 2-1 in overtime to Green Bay Preble.

Drake Vandermause broke a scoreless tie early in the second half with a goal to put Middleton up. However, Preble's Ben Weltzien tied it back up just nine minutes later. In overtime, Cameron Bosacki scored the game-winner for the Green Bay Preble.

Middleton's season ends with a 18-3-2 record.
