MADISON, Wis. (Per UW Athletics) – Wisconsin (4-3-0) allowed goals on its first two shots allowed by Northern Michigan (3-5-1, 1-4-1 WCHA), one 33 seconds into the game and the second 15 minutes, 37 into the contest after UW had already tied the contest. The goals proved too much to overcome in a 5-2 loss on Friday at the Kohl Center.

Freshman Trent Frederic scored at 10:33 on the power play in highlight-reel fashion, skating end-to-end, stick handling past the entire NMU team and finishing to tie the game at 1-1.

Sophomore forward Seamus Malone scored on a penalty shot at 14:36 of the third period to draw the Badgers to within two goals at 4-2.

NMU added an empty-net goal at 19:04 by Gerard Hanson to seal the victory.

Sophomore Matt Jurusik stopped four of 10 shots before freshman Jack Berry relieved him 5:02 into the second period.
