MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -

Mount Horeb's quest for a second consecutive boys soccer state championship came up just one goal short. The Vikings fell to Delavan-Darien 2-1 in the WIAA Division 3 title game.

Delavan-Darien scored twice in the first 13 minutes. Julian Riviere cleaned up a loose ball in front of the net in the seventh minute. Then, Gerardo Rodriguez hammered one home in the 12th minute to give the Comets a 2-0 lead.

Mount Horeb did get one goal back when Ben Stephens found the back of the net in the 38th minute. However, that was the final score. Mount Horeb finishes the season with a 17-5-2 record.
