Eau Claire Regis beats Darlington 27-14 for WIAA D6 title

MADISON (AP) -

Caleb Brickner intercepted two passes and had a 6-yard touchdown run, leading Eau Claire Regis to a 27-14 victory over Darlington to win the WIAA Division 6 championship on Thursday.
   The Ramblers (14-0) churned out 379 yards of offense and forced five turnovers, allowing Regis to control the clock for 31:16 and win the school's second football state title.
   Darlington (13-1) had one of the most potent offenses in the state in averaging 52.3 points per game and 11 yards rushing per attempt this season, but finished with 110 rushing yards, 3.7 yards per attempt and a season-low in points on Thursday.
   Hunter Johnson, the WFCA Offensive Player of the Year, finished with 178 total yards and a 2-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
   The Redbirds finished Division 6 runner-up for the fourth straight season.
