MADISON (WKOW) -- With the temperatures starting to drop, now is a good time to do an inventory of your winter weather gear and think about sharing some items you don't need with people who don't have adequate clothes for the cold.
Wisconsin's statewide campaign "The Big Bundle Up" is back on. This the sixth year. According to numbers from past years, the program has collected more than 71,800 warm winter items to help families in need.
You can drop off your new or slightly used winter clothing items from Thursday, November 17, 2016 to Monday, January 2, 2017. Drop off sites are available on travelwisconsin.com. If you are in the Madison area, you can drop off your items at the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau. Everything dropped off there will be donated to the Madison YWCA.
Curt Lenz from the Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau joined us on Wake Up Wisconsin Saturday morning. You can find out more about the campaign in his interview clip, attached to this article.
