No. 1 Wisconsin skates past Cornell, 5-2

MADISON, Wis. (Per UW Athletics)– The No. 1 Wisconsin women’s hockey scored three goals in the final 40 minutes to skate past Cornell, 5-2, on Saturday night at LaBahn Arena.

Junior Annie Pankowski tallied a pair of goals, including the game-winner, while junior Maddie Rolfes, sophomore Sam Cogan and senior Sydney McKibbon each lit the lamp for the Badgers (14-1-1).

Freshman Nikki Cece stopped 12 of the 14 Cornell (6-4-1) shots she faced to earn her third career victory in net.

Wisconsin continues its homestand by welcoming No. 2 Minnesota to LaBahn Arena next weekend. Faceoff on Saturday, Dec. 3 is set for 3:30 p.m., while Sunday’s contest, which will air on Fox Sports Wisconsin, starts at 2 p.m.
