Badgers blitz Gophers 8-2 in women's hockey

MADISON (WKOW) -

The No. 1 Wisconsin women's hockey team exploded for a 8-2 victory over No. 2 Minnesota in front of a sellout crowd at LaBahn Arena.

Five different Badgers scored. Sarah Nurse tallied her second hat trick of the season. She matched a career high with four points. Baylee Wellhausen scored two goals. Sydney McKibbon, Alexis Mauermann and Annie Pankowski also scored.

Ann-Renee Desbiens stopped 23 of 25 shots. She recorded her 12th win of the season.

Wisconsin travels to Ohio State next weekend.
