MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- William Shatner on Sunday night posted on Twitter about a uniquely-painted garage on Milwaukee's southwest side.
The garage door is painted in a tribute to last year's 50th anniversary of Star Trek. Shatner, of course, played the iconic role of Capt. James T. Kirk on the series.
Twitter user Karen Pilarski sent a photo of the garage to Shatner, to which he replied,"Remember the Partridge family episode...?"
His message was an obscure reference to a February 1972 episode named "My Heart Belongs to a Two Car Garage" in which a painter creates the image of a nude woman on a garage door, much to the displeasure of neighbors.
There's a much different reaction to the art from those who live near the Milwaukee home.
"I love it. He changes it up," said Angelique Lipofski. "He's done Spider-Man and Star Trek and the Brewers. It's beautiful. It's absolutely beautiful."
The garage isn't Shatner's only connection to Milwaukee. Since 2007, he's been a television spokesman for the law firm of Hupy & Abraham. Incidentally, the law firm a few years ago expanded to the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois, just about 60 miles to the east of Riverside, where Kirk will be born on March 22, 2233.
