Manhunt suspect fired from most recent job at Janesville Best Buy

JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- The Rock County Sheriff's Office says 32-year-old Joseph Jakubowski worked around the holidays at the Janesville Best Buy.  Rock County Sheriff Robert Spoden knows personally about it because one of his sons worked the sales floor with the man at the center of the manhunt.

"My son said he [Jakubowski] was very quiet, didn't say a lot," Sheriff Spoden said about Jakubowski.   Best Buy says they fired the 32-year-old employee, but refused to give specifics about the termination.

"He [Jakubowski] worked there at like Christmas and Thanksgiving," an un-identified former Best Buy worker said.

"He [Jakubowski]  just thought he knew more than everybody else just kind of seemed like a normal guy," the former co-worker explained.

But the 'normal guy' ended up writing a 160 page manifesto to President Donald Trump.

"I mean he [Jakubowski] seemed like a pretty people person guy, didn't seem like he was crazy, so,"  the former co-worker added.

Tuesday night, authorities say Jakubowski also brazenly burglarized Armageddon Gun Shop.

"More than 150 local, state and federal law enforcement officers have been working to locate our suspect," Sheriff Spoden said at a Friday morning FBI briefing.

Across Rock County, national and state agencies are reviewing the latest intel.

"These officers have tracked down more than 65 leads since the investigation began.  Additionally they have searched approximately 12 different locations," Sheriff Spoden added.
