MADISON (WKOW) -- Police say a man was shot at by another man and was hurt, not by bullets, but by breaking glass from the car that was hit.

Police say just before 3 p.m. Friday, the victim was driving his car in the 1300 block of Forster Drive when it was slapped by a pedestrian who was in the roadway.  When the driver got out to confront the person who slapped his car, police say a gun was drawn and fired at the driver.

Officers say the victim was retreating to the car when the shots were fired and was hit by breaking glass. They say the victim came away with minor injuries.

The Madison Police Department says investigators believe the suspect ran off. Officers describe him as a black male, late teens to early 20s, with shoulder-length dreadlocks that have yellow or orange tips. They say he was wearing a black jacket over a hooded sweatshirt.
