MADISON (WKOW) -- The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is blazing new trails in the fight against pancreatic cancer.
On Thursday, Niketa Rae Miller stopped by Wake Up Wisconsin to talk about their signature event PurpleStride Madison.
Each year, in communities across the country, tens of thousands of people participate in more than fifty-six PurpleStride events, including PurpleStride Madison. These events are critical in raising awareness and funds that advance research and support patients and loved ones with a promise of a better tomorrow.
PurpleStride Madison 2017 is scheduled for May 6, 2017 at Warner Park. The 5K run and awareness walk is planned entirely by local volunteers.
"It's going to be a great day to come out and raise awareness and support friends and family,"said Miller.
The fun kicks off at 9 a.m. with opening ceremonies, and the run/walk is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. Registration is still open for teams and individuals.
