Green Bay's Anderson transferring to Wisconsin

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -

After starting as a true freshman at Green Bay, guard Trevor Anderson announced on Twitter that he is transferring to Wisconsin to resume his playing career.

"When the season closed, I did a lot of self reflection; evaluating all aspects of my life from school, sports and personal happiness. Growing up in Wisconsin, it was always my personal dream to play for the Badgers. With that in mind, I have decided to transfer to the University of Wisconsin-Madison for the 2017-18 season."

The 6'2" guard started 20 games for the Phoenix before a back injury ended his season prematurely. He averaged 9.8 points and 2.9 rebounds. Anderson shot 37.6% from three-point range.

Prior to Green Bay, Anderson led SPASH to back-to-back high school state championships. He was awarded the 2016 WBCA Mr. Basketball honor.

As a transfer, Anderson will not be allowed to compete in games for the Badgers this upcoming season. After sitting out a year, he will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
