GREEN BAY (WKOW) -

The Green Bay Packers welcomed in their rookie class for the 2017 season on Friday with day one of their rookie mini camp at the Don Hutson Center.

Rookie linebacker Vince Biegel didn't have a great first day at his new job, after leaving practice early with a hand injury but both Biegel and Mike McCarthy say the injury is "minor."

"I'm disappointed obviously that I didn't get to finish my first practice as a Green Bay Packer." Said the former Wisconsin Badger Biegel. "There is going to be a bumpy road. There is ups and downs in this journey. The hand injury is not a concern. I'm staying positive and looking forward to tomorrow."

Biegel underwent X-rays on his hand, which he said he hyperextended during a blocking drill, and the results will determine whether he practices Saturday.

After practice McCarthy addressed the media, "have you met Vince? I think he is going to be fine. He drove here. He was the first one here. He sat in the front row, so he is off to a great start."

The Packer's rookie mini camp will conclude Saturday afternoon.
