SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (WKOW) -- What if your dream job as a child was the job you had now? An astronaut, perhaps? A rock star? Unlike most of us, Chicago native Greg Nuse has his childhood dream job.

Nuse is the new Master Model Builder at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago, a full-time job that pays him to play with LEGOs and inspire kids to do the same.

On Thursday, Nuse, accompanied by some of his most magnificent LEGO models stopped by Wake Up Wisconsin to discuss his new role and all the exciting things coming up at LEGOLAND this summer.

“Not many people can say that they get paid to play with LEGO,” Nuse said. “I can. Everything IS awesome. I couldn’t be more excited to get to work on creating unique, memorable and rewarding experiences for our visitors.”

Nuse will be responsible for leading the model building team as well as designing and developing new LEGO models and experiences for the thousands of children and families who visit the center.  One of the new exhibits is LEGO Friends Heartlake City!

Olivia, Emma, Stephanie, Mia, and Andrea need your help building Heartlake City. This interactive LEGO play area lets you become one of the LEGO Friends and add your own LEGO creations into the Heartlake City display.

Nuse joins the ranks of only nine people in the United States and eighteen people in the world who hold the title of LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Master Model Builder. He assumed the role on March 20, 2017.
