UPDATE: Homicide investigation in Sun Prairie

UPDATE (WKOW) -- Sun Prairie Police say they've identified a person of interest in this morning's homicide on South Bird Street. 

A news release from Officer Jon Lothe Sunday afternoon states investigators also are interviewing several people who were present at the time. 

Officer Lothe says they have cleared the scene from processing, though they're continuing to collect evidence as part of an active and ongoing investigation.

He adds that police continue to believe the incident was not a random act.

SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- The Sun Prairie Police Dept. is investigating a homicide on the city's south side.

At about 1:30 a.m., police were called to the 400 block of South Bird St. for a report of a person shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 33-year-old man with fatal injuries.

Police don't believe the shooting was random. The investigation is ongoing.
