Meth found among Halloween candy, according to tribal police

KESHENA, Wis. (AP) - Menominee Tribal Police are warning parents to check their children's Halloween candy carefully after they say a packet of methamphetamine was placed with a child's candy.

Police say they received a complaint of a suspicious package located in a child's Halloween candy and discovered a small yellow Ziploc type baggy containing crystalline powder. 

The crystalline powder tested positive for methamphetamine. They posted photos to their Facebook page Monday.

The parent reported the children trick-or-treated in the Keshena area on the Menominee Indian Reservation.

Police say if anything suspicious is located please contact the Menominee Tribal Police Department at 715-799-3881, or your local authorities. Once all Halloween Candy is checked.
