MADISON (WKOW) -- A lot of people want to give pets as gifts this time of year, but the Dane County Humane Society has a suggestion.
Instead of a surprise puppy under the tree, they suggest giving a DCHS gift certificate and bringing the whole family into the shelter. That way you can find a pet that best matches your whole family.
Marissa DeGroot from the DCHS introduced Wake Up Wisconsin viewers to one such puppy who needs a home. Brownie is a 4-month-old Coonhound/Foxhound mix. He was found stray on Rimrock Road in mid-October.
The DCHS will close this Sunday at 3:00 p.m. and is closed all day Monday. So if you're looking for a pet or gift certificate, stop in before then! For more information, click here.
