MADISON (WKOW) -- Hewlett-Packard is voluntarily recalling batteries in some of their electronic devices for safety concerns.

HP says they've received several reports of battery packs overheating, melting or charring. Some include reports of property damage totaling $4,500 and one report of someone being hurt with a first degree burn on their hand.

The batteries were sent and installed on the following computers and workstations:

  • HPx360 310 G2
  • HP ProBooks (64x G2 and G3 series, 65x G2 and G3 Series)
  • HP Envy M6
  • HP Pavilion x360
  • HP 11
  • HP ZBook (17 G3, 17 G4, and Studio G3)

According to HP, the batteries were shipped in devices sold from December 2016 through December 2017.

Consumers with these devices should immediately visit the HP recall page and download the "Battery Validation Utility" to see if their battery is a part of the recall. Consumers can also enable "Battery Safety Mode".

HP will provide free battery replacement services for affected consumers.

Anyone who believes their battery is included in the recall should call HP at 888-202-4320.
