Police: former UW-System official feuded with co-workers before OWI

MENOMONIE (WKOW) - Police reports show former UW-System administrator Jessica Tormey feuded with co-workers before being stopped for drunken driving in October.

UW-System spokesperson Stephanie Marquis says System officials continue to review other UW employees' concerns about Tormey's actions, even though Tormey resigned her vice president's position last week.

Menominee Police reports show Tormey was pulled over Oct. 5 when Officer Chris King spotted her driving with only her parking lights on.

Reports show when King asked where she had been,  Tormey "...advised she had been involved in some confrontation with some of her colleagues while she had been downtown."

Marquis says Tormey was part of a Board of Regents event at UW-Stout that night, and wine was served, as students in hospitality studies participated in the event.  Police reports show Tormey told the officer she had drunk beer, but did not specify where.

Reports state the result of Tormey's preliminary breath test (PBT) was a blood alcohol level of .148, well above Wisconsin's driving limit of .08.

Tormey was convicted of first offense operating while intoxicated last month.
