MADISON (WKOW) -- The snow left behind from the recent winter storm means fun for kids who got the day off from school. For many, Friday was spent inside keeping warm but for others, it meant helping their neighbors.
Eric Boyd and his 8 year old son Max spent the afternoon shoveling driveways and sidewalks for those who simply can't do it.
Eric started volunteering with the East Madison-Monona Coalition of the Aging last January.
He says he wanted to give back and show his son the importance of helping others.
"I just know that there are people out there that need it and can't do things themselves and don't have other people who can help them. I've been fortunate my whole life to have my family in the area and so I just know it needs to be done," Boyd said.
Eric and Max cleared one driveway in just about 10 minutes before moving onto the next one.
Max said he just enjoyed being out in the snow again.
His dad also helps people with different projects around the house during the rest of the year.
