MADISON (WKOW) -- Some state lawmakers and leaders offered a response on Monday to Governor Scott Walker's State of the State address last month.

They called it their first annual State of Black and Brown Wisconsin. They spoke about issues affecting minority Wisconsin's minority communities, like the future of Dreamers. Immigrants brought to this country as young children.

"When Governor Walker gave his State of the State address just recently, he didn't mention the struggles of Latinos and immigrants in our state," said Rep. JoCasta Zamarripa (D) Milwaukee. "The governor and his party seem unconcerned with the nearly 7,600 DACA dreamers who call Wisconsin home."

In addition to lawmakers, community leaders also spoke at the event. Organizers invited the public to share issues concerning to them.
