UPDATE (WKOW) -- A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for Lafayette, Green, and Rock counties through 10:00 a.m.

An earlier advisory was cancelled overnight, but dense fog has re-developed in far southern areas this morning.

In addition to the fog, meteorologist say people should watch out for spotty black ice this morning, especially on untreated sidewalks and side streets.

MADISON (WKOW) - A dense fog advisory has been issued for central and southern sections of our area from now until 9 am Thursday morning. Expect poor visibility overnight, especially closer to the Illinois state line where the fog will be thickest.

Make sure to keep your headlights on while driving in the fog and allow for extra time and space on the roads.

And after a warm day in the 40s, some of our snow pack has melted. This may re-freeze on untreated surfaces, such as sidewalks, driveways and possibly side streets. Any shiny spots you see could be black ice, so be careful!
