Posted: Updated:

Madison West closed out the WIAA Division 1 swim meet with a championship, winning the plaque after scoring 293 points.

The Regents started things off with a bang, taking first place in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:32.35.

The dominance rolled on. Wes Jekel took home a state title in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 49.11 seconds.  That's good enough to be the second-fastest time in state history. Henry Miller won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 56.59 seconds.

Lain Weaver capped off his state meet with a title in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 48.99 seconds.

"[Winning state] is amazing," said Weaver.  "We haven't won state in like 25 years and the school is behind us.  We had a huge cheering section. It's pretty crazy!"
