MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police are investigating two armed robberies that happened within a few hours, but don't appear to be connected.

The first happened just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 21 in the 300 block of South Stoughton Road. Police say there was a report of an armed robbery. The victim was walking along the highway when he was confronted by the suspect, who had a knife and took money.

Police say the suspect was described as a white man who appeared to be in his mid-30s.

The victim was not hurt. The suspect has not been found yet, and the investigation continues.

Then, around 1:20 a.m. Thursday, February 22, police responded to an area outside of 17 North Wickham Court for an armed robbery. Officers learned multiple victims were confronted by a man who had a gun and demanded money. None of the victims were hurt.

In that case, the suspect was described as a young African-American man, about 17 to 19 years old. That suspect has not been located yet and the investigation continues.
