MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Police Violent Crimes Unit is investigating whether two shootings Wednesday evening in Madison are related.

Lt. Gregory Esser tells 27 News, at about 6:30 p.m. someone fired a gun at the Raymond Road Kwik Trip and sped off.  Police found shell casings, but don't have any information on suspects.

Then at about 7:50 p.m., Lt. Esser says there was another shooting at Rocky's Liquor on W Beltline Hwy.  Cars sped off from this shooting too.  Police do not have any suspect information, but they know of one person who was hurt.  They say a 26-year-old man checked into the hospital with a gunshot wound.  He's expected to recover.

While police cannot say for certain if the two shootings are connected, they do believe both of them were targeted.
