JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Janesville police have arrested a man in an arson investigation.

Police say the house fire happened Thursday night at 1609 South River Road. When officers arrived they discovered all residents were out of the home and that the fire was mostly put out by the buildings sprinkler system. No one was injured.

Officers learned 18-year-old Elijah Dvorak, a resident of the home, most likely set the fire after becoming upset. Dvorak left prior to officer’s arrival.

On Friday, just before 8 a.m., Rock County Dispatch received a call from an employee of the railroad saying a man was found on a train car on the railroad tracks near Sentry and W. Court St. The man's description matched Dvorak's. Janesville Officers arrested Dvorak about twenty minutes later at a Casey’s gas station at 2601 W. Court St.

Dvorak, admitted to intentionally starting fires at the house prior to leaving. He is currently being held on a previous court ordered commitment.

The Rock County District Attorney’s office is still looking into possible charges.
