UW-Platteville's Gard named WIAC Coach of the Year

PLATTEVILLE (WKOW) -

The UW-Platteville men's basketball team claimed it's first WIAC regular season title since 2005. To the victors, go the spoils. The Pioneers' Jeff Gard has been named WIAC Coach of the Year. UW-Platteville's Robert Duax has been tabbed the Player of the Year.

Gard led the Pioneers to their 20th regular-season conference title after finishing eighth a year ago. The team is 22-4 entering the NCAA Tournament.

Duax is averaging 15.3 points. He is the ninth player in school history to be named the Player of the Year.
