Cap City Cougars headed to WIAA championship

MADISON (WKOW) -

The Capitol City Cougars (Sun Prairie co-op) scored an overtime goal on Friday afternoon to beat the Fond du Lac girls' hockey co-op, 3-2, and punch a ticket to the WIAA championship game.

The Cougars were trailing leading, 2-1, in the third period when Fond du Lac tied it up to send it to OT.  Three minutes into the OT period, Zephryn Jager scored to win the semifinal match-up for Cap City.

Colleen Milligan scored both regulation goals for the Cougars, with Zephryn Jager providing both of those assists.

Cap City will face the Eau Claire North Co-op in the championship on Saturday at 12pm.  You can watch the game live on WKOW.
