Stricker wins Cologuard Classic in Tucson

Tucson, AZ (WKOW) -

Edgerton native, Steve Stricker shot a 14 under par overall, with a 69 in the third and final round to win the Cologuard Classic in Tucson, AZ for his first win on the PGA Tour of Champions and his first win since 2012.

Stricker played a safe round picking up par on 14 holes, with the other four he birdied to close out with a 69. Two strokes ahead of Madison native Jerry Kelly. Kelly finished tied for second place at 12 under par. 

Kelly climbed 21 spots in the final round with 8 birdies. He finished tied with Gene Sauers and Scott Dunlap at 12 under.

The PGA Tour of Champions returns to Madison for the second straight year. The American Family Insurance Championship is June 18-24 at University of Ridge Golf Course in Madison.
