UPDATE: The Big Share surpasses goal

UPDATE (WKOW) -- The Big Share surpassed its goal by midnight.

According to the website, it raised $411,593.63.  More than 3,000 people donated.

The goal was to raise $400,000.


UPDATE (WKOW) -- Community Shares of Wisconsin says it has already received almost $385,000 as of 10 p.m.

MADISON (WKOW) -- Community Shares of Wisconsin is hosting "The Big Share" once again this year. It's an effort to bring attention to local non-profit agencies.

People are asked to donate money, learn about volunteer opportunities and share their stories on social media. 

The Big Share is Tuesday, March 6, but the effort is already underway in Dane County. Click here for more information.

Monday, March 5 from 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. you can get a free coffee with a donation at Java Cat on Monona Drive in Madison. Tuesday, March 6 you can get free coffee at Cargo Coffee on E. Washington Avenue starting at 6:00 a.m. There is also a free event with entertainment and food at One Barrel Brewing Company starting at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.
