WISCONSIN DELLS (WKOW) -

For the first time in school history, the Wisconsin Dells girls basketball team is headed to the state tournament.

"It's a testament to their work ethic, our defense, our team chemistry, the love they have for each other, the love they have for the community," head coach Bobby Buss gushes about his team. "It's so exciting."

The Chiefs punched their ticket to the Resch Center in Green Bay with a 46-29 victory over Hayward in the sectional final. Despite their 25-1 record, Wisconsin Dells drew the No. 4 seed in the Division 3 semifinals. They'll face top-seeded Marshall on Thursday at 1:35 p.m. So, the Chiefs will be the underdogs, at least to the outside world.

"I feel like the last couple of games have shown us that we can hang with anybody and that we can beat anybody," says junior Katelyn Meister. "We're not done yet. We're going all the way. We made it this far."
