UW Spring Game on April 13th

Posted: Updated:

MADISON - The Wisconsin football team will hold its annual Spring Game on Friday, April 13 beginning at 6 p.m. at Camp Randall Stadium. The game will be televised live by BTN. The Badger Sports Kids' Fair will start at 4:30 p.m. in the McClain Center, adjacent to Camp Randall.

The UW Athletic Department is pleased to partner once again with a campus department on the Spring Game. This year's partner is the UW School of Veterinary Medicine.

Tickets for the Wisconsin Football Spring Game are $5 and are on sale now. The proceeds from the game will go toward the school's "Animals Need Heroes Too" building expansion campaign.

"The UW School of Veterinary Medicine is thrilled to partner with the UW Athletic Department on this year's Spring Game," says School of Veterinary Medicine Dean Mark Markel.  "From training the next generation of veterinarians who serve communities throughout the state of Wisconsin, to improving the dairy industry, to investigating and developing strategies to prevent the next disease outbreak, the school remains focused on improving both animal and human health throughout the world.  To continue this work we need to expand our building, and we very much appreciate the support the Spring Game will provide us."

"This is the eighth consecutive year that we have partnered with a unit on campus and we are very pleased with the results," UW Director of Athletics Barry Alvarez said. "We are very proud of being able to help across campus, knowing the funds are going to a good cause."

Preceding the Spring Game, be sure to check out the Badger Sports Kids Fair presented by BMO Harris Bank. Fans young and old will enjoy interactive games and activities, the chance to meet Badger student-athletes and much more. The Badger Sports Kids Fair will be held in the McClain Center from 4:30-6 p.m. Admission is free.

The Badgers, who are ranked No. 7 in ESPN.com's "Way-Too-Early 2018 Top 25," return 14 players who started in the Orange Bowl. Last year's team won a school-record 13 games and finished the season ranked sixth in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

In his three seasons in Madison, head coach Paul Chryst has led Wisconsin to a 34-7 record, the fifth-best mark in the country (trailing only Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Oklahoma).
