PLATTEVILLE (WKOW) -

UW-Platteville fell in the final seconds to Nebraska-Wesleyan, 79-78, in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Division III tournament.

Pioneers forward Robert Duax grabbed a rebound and made a field goal with about 15 seconds left in the ball game, to take a 78-77 lead for UW-Platteville.  But the defense couldn't stop Nate Schimonitz, who hit a floater in the final seconds to grab the win for Nebraska-Wesleyan.

Duax had 22 points in the loss.  The Pioneers finish the season 24-5.  It was the team's first trip to the "Sweet 16" since 1999.
