Badgers' Frederic signs with Bruins

MADISON (WKOW) -

The Wisconsin men's hockey team is losing it's top goal-scorer. The Boston Bruins announced they have signed forward Trent Frederic to a three-year entry-level contract. Frederic will play for the Providence Bruins on an Amateur Tryout Agreement for the remainder of this season before his Boston contract kicks in for the 2018-19 season. The Bruins drafted Frederic in the first round in 2016.

Frederic led the Badgers with 17 goals and 15 assists over 36 games this past season. The 6'3" sophomore earned Honorable Mention All-Big Ten honors. He was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2016-17 after tallying 15 goals and 18 assists.
