Milwaukee Washington overcomes deficit in win over La Crosse Central

MADISON (WXOW) -- A tight game early on rolled into a safe lead late in the game Milwaukee Washington advanced to the WIAA Division 2 boys state title game with a 70-58 win over La Crosse Central.

La Crosse built a slight 32-28 lead at halftime on the strength of balanced scoring from its starting five.

Johnny Davis and Terrance Thompson each had eight points in the first half. David Hayden had six and Jordan Davis and Noah Parcher each had five points.

Milwaukee Washington was led in the first half by Michael Foster Jr. with eight points. 

Foster propelled the second half run with Milwaukee Washington moving ahead never to look back. Foster finished the game with 16, as did Jordan Dinsmore. Deontay Long had 14.

The team will face Kaukauna in the D2 championship Saturday, March  17, 2018 at the Kohl Center in Madison.

The Ghosts advanced following their 75-63 win over Westosha Central.
