ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WKOW) -

The Wisconsin Badgers added some point guard help late in the recruiting cycle. The team landed a verbal commitment from Tai Strickland.

Strickland is a 6'2" guard from St. Petersburg High School in Florida. He helped lead his team to a 24-6 record as a senior. His father, Rod Strickland, played 17 seasons in the NBA.

Strickland will be allowed to sign a letter of intent as early as April 11. He will join an incoming freshmen class that already featured post players Taylor Currie and Joe Hedstrom.
