Camp Createability helps individuals with autism learn employable skills

Posted: Updated:

MADISON (WKOW) -- People with autism know the importance of this month. April is Autism Awareness Month and families in the Madison area want others to learn more about it.

Camp Createability is a summer camp for people with autism to increase their employment skills. It focuses on the video and entertainment industry. All participants help produce a mini film with credits.

Dylan Ziegler is one participant who chose to help and share his personal story in the film. Dylan calls himself "Dylan the Villain," saying he often felt like a villain or outsider growing up because of his autism.

Camp Createability has a Go Fund Me page to help raise money for the film. To learn more about Camp Createability and its upcoming events, click here.

BioMat 4 Autism is hosting a health discussion April 8 at the McFarland Family Wellness Center (4705 Dale-Curtin Dr. in McFarland) from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. Experts will talk about autism and its relationship to gastrointestinal problems.
