JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- A Brodhead man was arrested early Sunday morning in Janesville for allegedly driving intoxicated.

Janesville police say around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, officers stopped 24-year-old David A. Nolte near the intersection of East Centerway Street and North Garfield Avenue for crossing the center line of the road.

As officers stopped Nolte they say he refused to identify himself or get out of the vehicle.

During their investigation, they say officers were able to identify Nolte based on prior traffic stops. Nolte has three prior alcohol-related convictions and a BAC restriction.

Police say Nolte got out of the vehicle but then began to resist officers who were trying to arrest him.

After taking standardized sobriety and breath tests, Nolte was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated-4th Offense, resisting an officer and operating after revocation.

Nolte is currently being held at the Rock County Jail pending his initial appearance.
