Badgers throw out the first pitch at Brewers home opener

MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -

The Brewers turned to the defending Orange Bowl champions to find someone to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the home opener. Several members of Wisconsin's football team stood around the mound as former tight end Troy Fumagalli fired his left-handed fastball.

"That was really cool. That was a childhood dream of mine. I loved playing baseball growing up. I'm happy we were able to do it. I'm happy I didn't throw it in the dirt either," Fumagalli said after his big moment.

Fumagalli grew up pitching, despite having a finger amputated off his throwing hand as an infant. He said it had been a while since he stepped on the mound. So, there were some nerves as he warmed up.

"I was pretty nervous. That was cool, especially Opening Day and such a cool sport."
